Season 2018 | Location: Houston
Dynamo and Dash
The teams from the Houston Dynamo and Dash have been very successful. At our New Year's Reception (15th January, 2018) Chris Canetti, President of the Houston Dynamo, made a wonderful contribution.
The Dynamo team had a successful 2017 campaign that included a run to the Western Conference Championship. Season 2018 will be their 13th season. Under second year coach, Wilmer Cabrera, the club looks to build off of last year’s success.
The team is young, diverse and dynamic, with hard working players hailing from nine different countries. The high-scoring lineup is led by Honduran wingers Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto, Colombian striker Mauro Manotas and Argentine playmaker Tomas Martinez. These four combined to score 28 goals last year and will look to increase that total in 2018.
Under Vera Pauw from the Netherlands, the Houston Dash team will start their 5th season. Vera Pauw has global coaching experience having led the National Teams of Holland, Scotland, Russia and South Africa. She has revamped the Dash with a fresh vision for success.
More than 50% of the roster is made up of new players. The biggest acquisition is USWNT star Christen Press. Along with Press, the new signings include a young South African duo in MF Linda Motlhalo and FW Thembi Kgatlana.
Vera Pauw and her team are very optimistic for season 2018.
