This 'inbound trade mission' called Counterwave is organized by Brabant C and the investment fund for Culture, together with Creative Holland, Westergasfabriek, Municipality of Eindhoven, Hightech XL, Eindhoven 365, BOM, Brainport Development and The Living Museum.
New Dutch Wave is held every year at SXSW in Austin, Texas. In 2016 they were convinced that the Dutch initiatives during the festival - with music, film and digital - should be bundled together in order to make a real impact. Every year New Dutch Wave has about fifty participants.
The Counterwave is a logical development to strengthen the ties between SXSW, the city of Austin and the US with our country and creative industries, the organizers say.
SXSW will be held next year from 8 to 17 March 2019. For SXSW19 speakers such as Wyclef Jean, Joseph Lubin, Zoe Saldana, Maria Shriver and Jeff Zucker have been announced.

On Road2USA & CanadaXL you will find experts, experiential experts and a relevant network. The ambassadors of the US and Canada open the event. Then there is a plenary discussion with highly experienced representatives from the Dutch business community, political expert Willem Post and the American embassy.
You will learn more about the North American market through workshops on market opportunities, practical tips from experience experts, information about establishing a company with the focus on legal, tax and visa issues. There is a specific workshop on the CETA, the trade agreement with Canada that has been in operation for 1 year now. The CETA has led to a sharp increase in Dutch investments, trade missions, trade fair visits and trade requests.
Of course there is also plenty of opportunity to expand your business network and meet companies that are active in these countries. This can be done during lunch, on the information market - with experts from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) - and during the networking drinks.
